Hailing from Virginia, DJ Usul began his DJ'ing career as a rock DJ at WVRU in Radford, Va., in 1991. Discovering electronic music as music director, he quickly rose to be being one Virginia's most sought after traveling DJ's.
After graduation, under Keoki's recommendation, he moved to NYC, and within two year's became a resident DJ at Twilo, spinning beats next to notables such as Derrick Carter, Basement Jaxx, Laidback Luke, Mike Dearborn, and Doc Martin.
From there, DJ Usul traveled the world performing next to so many DJ and producer’s that the list is too long, but here are a few to show the diversity: Mixmaster Morris, Dave Holland, Space Girl, Autechre, Qbert, Faust and Shortee, Daft Punk, DJ Rush, Q-Burns Abstract Message, East Coast Boogiemen, Jeru the Damaja, etc.
Shortly after touring, he realized that his career needed to escalate to becoming a producer.
His first few tracks were an amalgamation of samples (almost completely illegal). He then met Christian Aydt, and together, they created a lifelong dream: an electronic BAND (hence the creation of Science Vs Nature).
DJ Usul has hung his coat, but tracks exist under this name, and are licensed to Expedition Recordings. Some are not for sale (due to the illegal samples), but others ARE available, and are noted as such.

Using a Euphonix MC Control and a MC Mix, Nature (from Science Vs Nature) is reentering the DJ world. Formerly known as DJ Usul, Nature has played in some of the most noted clubs and parties in American and British electronica (Twilo, Ministry of Sound, Limelight, Buzz, just name a few), and has played alongside so many noted DJs, there are far too many to list (but here are a few - Doc Martin, Dave Holland, Derrick Carter, MixMaster Morris.....).
Back in the rave days, he was known for DJ'ing precisely with 4 decks (and once in Canada was challenged with 5 that tore the party to shreds).
Nowadays, in light of technology, and the ability to have complete control over the arrangement of sounds, Nature has taken the direction lead by Richie Hawtin (plastikman) to bur the lines of a traditional DJ into that of a track designer. Combining elements of multiple songs simultaneously, Nature brings you to the organic evolution of sound.
This mix was his first take using the new setup. As he gets used to sailing his new vessel, expect Nature to fly onwards and upwards.
